Haoran Tang
Welcome
Haoran Tang is a third-year PhD student at Purdue CS, advised by Prof. Rajiv Khanna. He received his MS in Robotics from University of Pennsylvania and BS in Computer Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Haoran was born and raised in Chongqing, China, a metropolis built on mountains and rivers.
Research Interests
Haoran’s current research focuses on Machine Unlearning and AI Safety, going beyond prediction suppression to remove concepts and behaviors at the representation level. His work ranges from the theory of unlearning to the algorithms it motivates for LLMs. He has also worked on Contrastive Learning and Diffusion Models.
